Freshdrop’s Replacement
I was on one of my favorite forums today, actually late last night and realized I have been overpaying about $80 a month for freshdrop! That $80 adds up very quickly to the tune of $960 per year! I have been with freshdrop since they implemented their pricing (which hasn’t quite been a year yet) but nevertheless, it is a lot of money! Don’t get me wrong, I do like their service, but one feature it does lack is the ability to get notified (via text or email) when a domain that meets my criteria becomes available. All the features that they offer minus the one mentioned are available now with services much cheaper. My monthly subscription expires on Dec 15th, so naturally I will be cancelling and going with one of their much cheaper competitors. It sickens me that I have been overpaying for their “premium” service…. It does offer a lot of functionality but nothing that is worth the extra $80 per month. I am removing my recommendation of their service as of today unless they lower their prices or expand their service with more functionality. I picked up several domains that had a significant (thousands) number of Y! backlinks as well as having a dmoz listing…. I have been paying closer attention to the dmoz listing, as it lets me know quickly that the previous owner was serious on promoting their domain. I am running experiments as we speak on how different aged domains perform with the various marketing methods I employ. I already have a good idea and have seen some satisfactory results from what I have done thus far.
