I am finally going to break down and try my  hand at direct mail.   I have received some revenue from Commission Junctions Pay Per Call program and am not sure where the money came from.  I made $72 /day from something that I had done,  but just not sure what it was.  I am usually really good about recording my promotions for each one of my websites,  but this  money seemingly came out of nowhere.   I even put the number in google to see where it was popping up, but there were no results returned.  I plan on listing the steps below,   I will email the results of my experiment to those on my email list.  I intend on having a members area with all of my findings in one place…  broken down into categories..  categories such as Direct Mail,  Niche Blogs,  Database sites etc.   I will give details on how I create, promote each one along with the outcome as far as revenue goes.   In the end the site is only deemed successful (there are exceptions) if it makes money…  I  have always had an interest in advertising via direct mail or newspapers,  but just never have gotten around to doing it.    I know that placing ads in classified sections of newspapers and Craigslist can be fruitful…. I have seen people sell things quite successfully using these forums.  I like the hands off approach though..  I do not have the time or energy to deal with physical products.  My intent is not to peddle junkets, trinkets or the like.  My goal is to have another successful revenue stream.  As you know,  the more sources of revenue you have,  the more likely you can wing yourself from your JOB.  I don’t want to get off on a “I don’t want to trade my time in for dollars” tangent…  suffice it to say,  my mindset is such that I am always looking for ways to create cash,  whatever that may be.  The more I can outsource (get others to do my work) the more attractive the opportunity becomes.

Before I start the steps I am taking for this experiment,  I am referring you to something I found on the warrior forum,  a WSO that was offered on this very subject.  You can find the product by going to “Placing Classified Ads and Making Money WSO”  .  I have yet to purchase it,  but do intend on doing so.  The sales copy is very intriguing.  I will report my findings in a later blog post.   You’ve all heard the commercials in the 90′s about “placing tiny classified ads” and making a fortune… well this is what it’s about.   I was always intrigued by this,  even then… and that was before the internet was as big as it is now.   When I see offers such as this and the many other late night infomercials,  I always try to do so with a critical mind.  I realize there has to be SOMETHING to what they are saying… they may be leaving out key points or adding a lot of hype,  but there is always something to what they are saying.  What do I mean when I say “something”?   I mean that there is some kind of truth or nuggets of information that if used correctly can and will make you money.  See,  they do not want to give you the precise recipe,   just sell you on the idea.   But anyway,  before I go off on selling that WSO, which I am not,  I don’t know the people nor do I get a commission.  I just simply like to share ideas and expose people to what is potentially out there.   I wish there was a website similiar to what I am attempting to do that run marketing experiments… to see what works and what doesn’t…  look over someone’s shoulder as they build an empire…  Well,  you can do that here.  I will now break down the steps I am using to bring my project to life.  I am putting a link to the video from the WSO (warrior special offer) below,  it is very interesting….

I understand that the above video sounds like a lot of hype… a sales video of sorts.. .that is NOT my style… I just wanted to give you an idea of what is really out there for your taking.  Abundance is your birthright… there are many ways for you to have abundance in your life,  this may be one of them…  I am sharing with you here what works, what doesn’t,  what may work and everything in between.  I am documenting my successes and failures… you may do better… business is not cut and dry,  there is a human element to business…   that can not be quantified… that is where psychology comes into play….  we can only predict behaviors based on past results and what the masses do…. anyway…

1.  Choose a Pay Per Call offer at Commission Junction.

2.  Register a domain and point it to the equivalent (for lack of a better word)  offer at CJ without the phone number (web lead only)

3.  Create the ad being sure to put in the number AND website.

4.  Choose a Location to Advertise in under $100 using http://www.nationwideadvertising.com/

 

5. Wait for the ad to run.

6. Test Results after the ad is run.

1.  How do I sign up for Commission Junction and choose a Pay Per Call offer?   How Do I choose the best offer to promote in print media?  Some offers inherently do not do well in print media or are cost prohibitive,  find out what they are.

2.  How do you calculate potential ROI (return on investment) to determine if  you will garner enough commission to make it profitable to run the ad in print media.  For example,  if you spend $100 on the ad,  how many conversions (people signing  up) will you need.  If you get $10 commission then you will need 10 people calling on the phone just to break even.  I will explain to you how long they need to be on the phone.  You don’t get paid just because they call…

3.  Where should you target your ad?    Where is your audience and how do you reach them?  Your goal is to drop your bait into a pool of hungry fish.

4.  How do you find the best places to advertise your offer?  Print media can be expensive.  Calling the paper directly will get you the most expensive price.  There are several different types of print media,  everything from thrifty nickle papers (free) to placing ads in highly targeted magazines.  We will show you the difference and what to look out for.   We expose the websites where you can buy the ad bypassing the newspaper altogether…   in an effort to get it cheaper.

5.  Learn how I investigate who else is  making money in newspapers.

6.  Learn how much traffic I recieved from my print media campaign and IF I made any money,  did I profit or lose?   Find out if you are on my email list.

I’m looking forward to this experiment…..  Will take me less than 30 minutes to put it into action….  IF THAT.  But if it is successful can generate me a very nice passive income on autopilot.   What if it was successful and made me 20 to 100 per day…  doesn’t sound like a whole lot does it?  Well considering less than an hour was put in it and I’m making $600 to $3K per month,  not bad?    How much do yo make per hour?  How much do you make especially after factoring in the time it takes you to get to work,  your gas and the dreaded TAXES.  See,  most of you are giving a free loan to uncle Sam….   Working for yourself using some simple methods to generate revenue will enable you to spend money then pay taxes instead of the reverse.   I spend money THEN pay taxes… you however,  PAY taxes THEN spend money… there is a BIG difference….   But anyway,  if this campaign is successful  I just rinse and repeat.  Don’t trade your time in for dollars people,  let your money work for you… let other people work for you,  it’s always better when someone else does it.  Anyway,  be sure to come back and see my results.   I have to get the ad in today so that it runs for next week I believe…. wish me luck!

I wanted to update everyone on my direct mail experiment.. i have not done anything with it as of yet. I did find some places i would like to do business with after performing some preliminary research. They mainly were list brokers and places to create postcards for me. I discovered, and was not surprised, that it will be expensive to implement. I really cannot wait to invest the money to carry this out and report back my findings.. I will have the website for my email subscribers to see the results of my experiments (more details than I intend on posting here) in the next few weeks. So be sure you are on our email list.
