Twitter project is in limbo
I have to admit, I have been a little lazy on this twitter project. I was having some problems with the software that I use to add friends to the 10 accounts that I have set up. I think I had previously told you, that I set up 10 accounts on twitter each with different subjects-matched the subjects of the twitter accounts to ads in rvtweet.com. this way it makes the ads much more targeted, which will help with revenue. With the twitter accounts that I already have set up, I have made about $.60, approximately. Which is not bad, actually it is pretty awesome to see $.05 or $.10 show up into your account occasionally. After looking in my revtwt.com account I noticed that there is some interesting CP A. adds on the network. I’ve actually thought about running some ads on the twitter network to see what happens. The conversion rates would not have to be all that awesome and I could use data from past campaigns to get a good idea of what to expect on the network. It looks like revtwt.com is fairly strict on their publishers, which leads me to believe that there is not a lot of junk traffic on the network, which is something you often have to be concerned about. I will also report my findings as an advertiser on this blog…
Once I get this software working, I will start adding friends, and automating comments with appropriate keywords, to each of the 10 accounts. I really think that I can make this work with the appropriate research and testing. It will be interesting to say the least, which works better on the network, advertising on the network, or being a publisher. I am trying to decide whether to sign up as an advertiser and promote a CPA offer that I have had success with in the past. You need to have a $50 deposit on the network in order for your ads to go through. I will not expose the CPA offer that I’m using, but I will post the results. You will see the conversion rates, traffic, and how long it took to get the traffic. From what I understand, you set the price of the ad, what you will pay per click, and the twitters will decide if they want to post it. I have noticed that a lot of the CPA offers are in the five cent range to the publisher, which means it is $.10 per click for the advertiser. It is still very reasonable to get 500 clicks for $50. If I could at least break even, it would be very interesting. Some of the CPA advertisements pay a dollar 50 for entering a zip code or e-mail address. I have experienced conversion rates anywhere from 3% to 75%, depending on the network I was using or how I promoted the offer. I have been running CPA ads for about five years now, so I have some experience with them. Some of the ads, no matter the audience, just do not convert as well. I think while I wait on the software to be fixed, I am going to work on a landing page, possibly collect their e-mail address, then send them to the CPA offer. This way I can market to them more than once and is not just a shot in the dark. An e-mail address would be worth a nice penny for me.
I am going to think of an angle to take, develop a landing page, collect their e-mail address, then send them to the CPA offer. I can then promote to send multiple times, and make more money off of each e-mail address. I’ll work the next few hours, later this evening, on the angle I’m going to take and the page that I will create. This is just to make up for some time while I wait on the software to be fixed. I will post results as I move along. I’m keeping very detailed records on Google docs, so I do not lose track of what I’m dealing. Also, this will let me find out what went wrong or what I did correctly. It is so easy to have successes or failures and not know exactly what happened to make it a success or failure. Some details, that you had forgotten about, could have led to your success or failure. Sometimes, success or failure is determined by various small details. It is the sum of these details that lead to your success or failure. I plan on keeping the details in Google docs. We’ll keep you posted.
Remember, you can keep track of all the projects that I am doing, in the category section. You can click on the category, and all the posts related to that project will appear. This way you can easily follow along with everything that I’m doing. I plan on working just one hour or less on each project. I also plan on setting automated tweets, as I was saying, this evening. I will use keywords, related to the subject of the twitter account, for each tweet. This way if someone is doing a search for a subject, my tweets will possibly appear, and the person will follow me. This way each account does not look like some kind of spam account, and the account will actually have something useful to say.
